Duke- I bought Duke as a puppy from Matt Tanner of Tanner's Kennel in Tucson, AZ. Duke was the pick of the litter and has turned out to be a very stylish and classy gundog. He is a Honky Tonk Attitude grandson and has a strong influence of Elhew Strike on his dams side. He is a natural retriever and has a cannon for a nose!! He also has some of the HTA style and head crank!!
Duke Hunting Gambles Quail Duke Honoring Point
Duke has been hunted for two seasons on Gambles, Scaled, and Mearns quail. He has also been used on preserve guided hunts for Chuckar, Bobwhite and Pheasants. This dog loves to retrieve and has a soft mouth. He will adjust to the cover your in and hunts anywhere from 50-150 yds out. He will range further however if you allow him to. Duke is a beautiful dog to watch in the field. He has a solid white body and a perfect mask. This really makes him stand out while hunting or in field trials. He is a very muscular and athletic dog. He is not however hard headed as some of the more powerful dogs can be. He is eager to please, and would rather hunt birds than anything else!! He'll be 3-years old in January and is just starting to hit his stride!! Duke's sire "Angel's High Moon" was a 6X CH 2X Regional CH in NSTRA and one of the top dogs in the Arizona region. Price $2,300.
Duke has an Awesome Pedigree. His Grandsire is CH "Honky Tonk Attitude. His dam had "Elhew Strike" 5 times in four generations. Clink on link below to view four generation pedigree.
Dozer-SOLD 12/02/2011Congratulations to Jared Moss of Best Gun Dogs Kennels - Beaver, Utah
Jared plans on continuing to hunt and trial Dozer. He is also planning on using Dozer in his breeding program. Keep an eye out for Dozer and his pups on the field trial circuits!!
Dozer is steady to wing, shot, and fall. He retrieves to hand and has a soft mouth. He has been hunted for 3 seasons on wild birds here and Arizona (Gambles,Scaled, and Mearns quail). He has also been used a few times guiding on a local Game Bird Preserve for Pheasants, Bobwhite, and Chuckars. He recently turned 4 years old, is in-tact, and is in the prime of his life. He has a ton of style as you can see by the pictures and points with a 10-12 O'clock tail. He ranges 30-50 yds in heavy cover and 100-150 yds in open country. Dozer is a hunting machine and would rather hunt birds than anything else! I purchased Dozer as an 8-week old puppy from Walnut Hills Kennels. Walnut Hills has been producing some of the finest shorthairs in the nation for over 30 years.(see sire & dam pics below). Dozer has a really cool & friendly personality and really wants to please and hunt for you. Dozer would do really well in NSTRA or any other walking trials. Price is $2,000. I can ship from Tucson or Phoenix airport or by ground transport if you prefer. I would love to show this dog on birds to any potential buyers. Dozer will make somebody and awesome hunting dog and companion. Give me a call at (928)792-3301 or Email - cluff01@gmail.com. If I don't answer leave a message and I'll call back in the evening. -Videos
Several people have asked to see some video on Dozer. These videos were taken by my cousin with his cell phone on 11/24/2011. Some of the videos are a little blurry. The blurry videos are a little better if you reduce the screen size. The area we are working the dogs this day is around one of my Johnny Houses that I keep Bob-White in. We also have some native Gambles and Blues quail in the area that we are trying to get re-established and do not shoot. A few of the videos of Dozer are actually on Blues quail which is why I just fire a shot into the air. As you can see by the dust as Dozer slams point in these videos, conditions this day were very dry and windy. We still managed to get some good dog work though. Due to my poor shooting this day, I only winged the two birds that were shot and then retrieved by Dozer. When Dozer retrieved them, they were both still alive so I put them back in the Johnny house. Both of them are still alive three days later which just shows what a soft mouth this dog has!! There are four videos total. Click on the picture below to view. Enjoy!!
